This JCAHO Field Study was a 6-week project assignment required for a MBA Program. The study took place at a home healthcare facility located in Southern California. This facility is JCAHO accredited and is constantly striving to upgrade all aspects of its operations. The entire documentation flow was analyzed during this assignment to assure the facility was in compliance with recent revisions to JCAHO standards at the next unannounced survey. The end result was the creation of a Previous Shift's Documentation Audit Form designed to shorten nurses' time required to complete this task. The Plan, Do, Check, and Act (PDCA) problem-solving method was used.
